Event set-up: Dom Pérignon invited 100 journalists form various lifestyle media to join them for an exclusive P2 Champagne launch, which took place in Iceland early May 2014. Discover Truenorth selected, secured and prepared the ultimate tasting locations for this one-off event. The event was designed to send every guest on a sensational journey where they experienced the raw nature and elegance of the new Dom Pérignon P2. This was a two-day event with 50 participants attending each day. The people were divided into two groups and travelled to each location with 45min intervals in super-jeep convoys. 

09:15 am – 10:15 am Seljalandsfoss Waterfall 

  • Two tailor-made rustic steel frame tables with dolerite (rock) tabletops 

  • Bottles of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004 

  • Dapper looking waiter 

10:15 am – 11:15 am Gígjökull Glacier 

  • 50cm x 50cm x 50cm x 50cm rectangular mirror plated seats 

  • 90cm x 200cm x 220cm high mirror plated structure reflecting the majestic glacier in the background 

  • 6 x 3.0m high bonfires 

  • Bottles of Dom Pérignon P2 

  • Richard Geoffroy, Dom Pérignon Cellar Master 

  • Four helicopters waiting to take the group to the black sand beaches where they were met by their super-jeep convoy to travel to the lighthouse 

11:45 am – 01:15 pm Dyrhólaey Lighthouse & Lunch 

  • All furniture at this historic lighthouse built in 1927 was replaced with high-end Icelandic design furniture 

  • One French chef, accompanied by an excellent team of local Icelandic assistant chefs and wait staff 

  • Bottles of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004 

09:00 pm – 01:00 am Private Villa Dinner 

  • All furniture replaced with tailor-made tables and Icelandic design dining chairs 

  • Specially made flower vases created out of black sand and Icelandic moss 

  • Ólafur Aranldsson, a well know Icelandic musician played on the stage built in the middle of wild terrain below the villa 

  • 25 Torches scattered around the stage and villa 

  • Cold smoke to create the illusion of mist on the lake 

  • Bottles of Dom Pérignon P2 

  • 7 course dinner by Iceland’s leading culinary chef and pioneer of the New Nordic Cuisine; Gunnar Karl Gíslason
